Climate Change, Global Warming, Renewable and Nuclear Energy Essay
Environmental Change, Global Warming, Renewable and Nuclear Energy - Essay Example Notwithstanding, the as of late experienced variety especially in the ascent of worldwide temperatures is apparently not because of common variety alone yet in addition the commitment of human exercises. These exercises are liable for the increased Carbon Dioxide levels and other warmth catching gases. Carbon Dioxide (CO2) and other Green House Gases (GHGs, for example, Methane (CH4), and Nitrous Oxide (N20), add to a worldwide temperature alteration through their green house impact. These gases trap and hold the warmth reflected from the earthââ¬â¢s surfaces, thus prompting outrageous temperature rise (Turk and Bensel, 2011). The U.S. National Climatic Data Center shows that worldwide temperatures have been on the ascent for as long as three centuries. The only remaining century saw a normal ascent in worldwide temperatures of about 1.58 F with the Arctic warming twice so much (Turk and Bensel, 2011). The previous 50 years information on serious temperatures have demonstrated a noteworthy ascent in temperatures; as such, ices, cold days and evenings were less while heat waves, sweltering days and evenings were increasingly predominant (Turk and Bensel, 2011). Additionally, this warming has not been ascribed to the earth alone yet in addition the seas which have for as far back as years retained the greater part of the warmth present in the climate. Accordingly, the seas temperatures have expanded altogether as well. With time, this warmth (from the seas) will be discharged back to the climate and this may bring about further environmental warming. Right now, immense research proposes that a worldwide temperature alteration is ever expanding because of the high centralization of green house gases inside the environment. The green house impact is experienced generally. Truth be told, researchers at NASAââ¬â¢s Goddard Institute for Space Studies have built up that there is a great deal of assimilation of sunââ¬â¢s vitality than its emanation. Henceforth, this awkwardness is the main source of the green house impact (Pewclimate, 2011). The U.S. Worldwide Change Research Program (USGCRP) delivered a report in 2009 with respect to the status of effects of environmental change in the U.S. As per it, human exercises have significantly added to the ascent in the centralization of the three principle green house gases: Methane, Carbon Dioxide and Nitrous Oxide. Undoubtedly, from the pre-mechanical period these gases have expanded in shocking rates. Carbon Dioxide has expanded by 40 percent; Methane by 148 percent and Nitrous Oxide by 18 percent (Harding, 2007). Forecasts show that with the present rate in increment of worldwide temperature, 2050 will be wrecking as the worldwide normal temperatures will surpass to just about 280 C. This will bring about abrupt and irreversible changes, for example, loss of the Amazon timberland, tremendous dissolving of the Greenland top, and arrival of Carbon dioxide from the dirts (Turk and Bensel, 2011). More terrible still, it is expected that smoke, fogs and bits transmitted from the petroleum product and vegetation could be right now moderating a dangerous atmospheric devation by going about as a spread which could be turning away sun oriented vitality back to space. The present pattern of tidying up air contamination will kill this ââ¬Å"global darkening effectâ⬠bringing about future increments in normal worldwide temperatures by right around 100 C (Turk and Bensel, 2011). Sustainable power source Recently, there has been a significant worry to change from util izing petroleum products to the inexhaustible types of vitality. Be that as it may, to accomplish this, we should observe two things. To start with, there should be serious research in order to offer elective wellsprings of vitality so as to eliminate the costs of energies. Second, there is requirement at the vitality costs to portray their actual worth; as it were, these costs ought to reflect shrouded costs, for example, the ecological costs which are connected to the

Sin Hawthornes Biblical Truth - Literature Essay Samples
In Nathaniel Hawthornes The Scarlet Letter, Hawthorne writes the consequences of one sinful act in a Puritan community. This sinful act involves three main characters, Hester, Dimmesdale, and Chillingsworth. As The Scarlet Letter progresses, each character copes with his or her sin differently, and therefore the sin affects them differently. Shirley Guthrie writes, There are three types of sin, 1) repentive sin, 2) unrepentive or hidden sin, and 3) deadly sin (7 types: lust, sloth, wrath, envy, gluttony, greed, and pride). All three can be forgiven by Gods grace, but only through the asking in Jesus Name(pp. 105). Hawthorne allows The Scarlet Letter to be a backdrop, illuminating the truth of each character. This truth being that each character is a symbolic representation of one type of sin. Hester becomes repentive sin, Dimmesdale is unrepentive, and Chillingsworth is deadly sin. As each character develops, so matures the sin, which they represent.Hesters adulterous affair, which i s quickly discovered through her pregnancy, culminates in her wearing the symbolic representation of her sin, the scarlet A. Hester learns to find forgiveness of her sin though the trials of wearing the A. Hester becomes repentive sin to the reader. Like Hester, King David of the Bible was in a adulterous affair, yet he became one of Gods greatest kings of the old testament. This was accomplished through humble confession of sin for forgiveness. David writes, So I confessed my sins and told them all to You. I said, Ill tell the Lord each one of my sins. Then you forgave me and took away my guilt(Ps.32:5). David shows how the open confession of sin can free the sinner for the burden of guilt, but sin always has consequences. David watches his youngest son, born from the adulterous affair, die. Hester is forgiven by her repentive behavior, but still finds her daughter an incarnate of her sin. Malcolm Cowley writes, [Hesters] terror concerning her strange elvish child presents retribut ion in a form which is new and natural:her slow and painful purification through repentance in crowned by no perfect happiness, such as awaits the decline of those who have no dark and bitter past to remember(pp.634). Hawthorn shows through Hester, how repentive sin, though forgiven, is always with usÃâ¹an embodiment of our failure in living up to Gods perfect law.Dimmesdale is always hidden in the background of The Scarlet LetterÃâ¹a shadowy character in pain. Hawthorne purposely does this to always keep on the readers mind what he truly represents. Dimmesdale is unrepentive of hidden sin. He is the father of Pearl, yet his fear of the community keeps him from ever taking the step that Hester has taken. Dimmesdale hides his sin and it festers through his guilt. Dimmesdale begins to deteriorate. The Bible reads, When I tell wicked people they will die because of their sins, and they do not [repent] their sinful ways, they must be punished. Now suppose faithful people start sinni ng, and I decide to put stumbling blocks in their paths to make them fall. They deserve to die because of their [unrepentive] sin(Ezek.3:18-20). This passage shows the consequences of unrepentive sin, and the greater responsibility place on the faithful. Dimmesdale is a biblical leader in the Puritan community, and as such, he faces a harsher punishment for his hidden sin. Henry James writes, It is upon [Dimmesdale] that the author project most frequently the cold, thin ray of his fitfully-moving lantern of guiltÃÅ The idea of a mystic A which the young minister finds imprinted upon his breast and eating into his flesh(pp.108, 113). When Hawthorne finally has his minister reveal his hidden sin, it is too late, and he dies on the scaffold. Dimmesdale cannot escape his unrepentive sin, and it devours him whole.Hawthorne describes Chillingsworth almost as Satan Himself. Chillingsworth is a vengeful husband, who reappears with destruction on his mind, a conniving liar who becomes the e mbodiment of the Bibles seven deadly sins. He prides himself on his intellect and wealth. He lust after and envies Hesters youth. He is greedy to regain his lost property [Hester] or destroy in through his wrath. Chillingsworth is Hawthornes vision of evil. The Bible reads, Rebelling against God or disobeying him because you are proud in just as bad as worshipping idols or asking them for advise(1 Sam15:23). Through pride, Chillingsworth steps from Gods grace and never looks back, he becomes a single-minded sinner. George Ripley writes, [Chillingsworth], who holds a principal place in the development of the plot, is depicted with such fearful directness and vigor that his infernal presence must long haunt the chambers of memory(pp.2). Chillingsworth becomes the Devil, who hunts after Hesters immortal soul, and like that King of Darkness, must face Gods judgment at the end of his life. The seven deadly sins, becomes the anchors that drag Chillingsworth to Hell.Hawthornes character gl ow with the power he imbues them with, they are sin and its judgment. The Bible reads, Sin is what gives death its sting, and the Law is the power behind sin(1 Cor.15:56). Simply put, no one need fear death that follows Gods commandments, but for those who sin, death becomes fearful. None can escapes deaths grasp, but to the forgiven, it is the next step to immortality. As Paul once wrote to a newfound church, Death, has lost the battle! Where is its victory? Where is its sting?(1 Cor15:54-55).Work CitedContemporary English Version. Holy Bible American Bible Society New York 1979Cowley, Malcolm. The Effects of Scientific Racism on Black Women Essay
The Effects of Scientific Racism on Black Women Scientific racism has been used to oppress, enslave and to justify torture. In my essay I will explore how scientific racism has been used to detriment the health of women of colour. Throughout history women of colour have been experimented upon, sexualized and reproductively abused with scientific racism as justification or the underlying premise for the thought behind this abuse. I will explore this idea using examples throughout various periods of history, as well I will show the contemporary effects. First, I will look at the enslavement of Africans in the New World. During this period women of African descent were raped and abused. They were deemed as sexual beings andâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦These science-based eugenic influences break through the lines of science in to the world of politics, promulgating anti-humanistic views of poor women of colour in the form of legislation fraught with bigotry and baseless generalizations. This political view flows through the judicial system, as courts apply eugenic philosophies in determining who should be sterilized and for what reasons. Black feminists have investigated how rape as a specific form of sexual violence is embedded in a system of interlocking race, gender, and class oppression (Davis 1978, 1981, 1989; Hall 1983). Reproductive rights issues such as access to information on sexuality and birth control, the struggles for abortion rights, and patterns of forced sterilization have also garnered attention Examining the links between sexuality and power in a system of interlocking race, gender, and class oppression should reveal how important controlling Black womens sexuality has been to the effective operation of domination overall. The words of Angela Davis, Audre Lorde, Barbara Smith, and Alice Walker provide a promising foundation for a comprehensive Black feminist analysis. The Issue Of Global Warming - 1652 Words
When the issue of global warming comes up in conversations, people usually groan and avoid conversation, and many roll up their sleeves and prepare for a heated debate. Some people feel culpable and concerned; others simply do not care. There exist many contrasting viewpoints which yield very distinctive stances on the subject. While many people may claim disregard on the issue, the media has broadcasted substantial data showing gradual rise in global temperature and the topic has been discussed in schools and seminars around the globe (Santhanam). While there may be developing countries that do not understand or recognize global warming or how humans contribute to it, developed countries are very educated about the situation yet, they are sadly the worldââ¬â¢s largest contributors to global warming. The big question for everybody is will those who can act to preserve and maintain the planet do so, or will they remain careless and irresponsible as the world crumbles beneath their f eet? Assuming that most individuals admire their beloved planet, many ecologists and environmentalists publish works and deliver speeches cautioning the public in hopes to enlighten and persuade as many people as possible to fight for the future of the planet. Alternative Power free essay sample
An outline of the responsibilities and research of the renewable energy source ESEP group. In addition to describing the roles and each member of the group, the proposal explains the urgency and significance of perfecting non fossil fuel energy sources. This research discusses the world?s current energy crisis. Fossil energy comprises the majority of the world?s energy source; however, these fuels pose threats to the environment and do not provide a renewable source of energy. Analysts predict that the world will run out of fossil fuels in forty to fifty years. Due to this impending crisis, experts research and attempt to determine renewable energy sources that meet the world?s growing energy needs while considering the technical, environmental, financial, and social impact of these alternatives. This report summarizes four of the most developed renewable energy options that could feasibly replace fossil fuels as a source of energy, including fuel cells, solar power, wind power, and hydroelectric power. We will write a custom essay sample on Alternative Power or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page Fuel cells use substances such as methanol and oxygen to react and provide energy; however, obtaining a clean, reliable hydrogen source and lowering the cost must precede implementation. Solar power harnesses the sun?s thermal with photovoltaic cells to produce electricity; the paper focuses on concentrating solar technologies and the addition research required to employ this alternative fuel source. Wind power uses turbines situated in a field to capture the kinetic energy of the wind; as one of the most frequently used renewable energy resources, this solution may become feasible as prices decrease. Hydropower uses flowing water through a system of turbines and generators to produce vast amounts of clean energy, but its environmental impacts are serious and widespread. All of these renewable energy sources have advantages and disadvantages when it comes to producing energy on a large scale. Some of these factors include cost, efficiency, environmental factors, and political a nd social factors. The report recommends an increase in research for each of these fields, and concludes that these renewable energy sources will only develop if society as a whole accepts the financial burden that accompanies them. Overall, the financial burden of renewable resources does not compare to the devastating effects that continued fossil energy usage will leave on the environment. As the global energy crisis worsens, scientists and researchers internationally race to refine and implement renewable energy resources to provide societies basic power needs that do not depend upon the consumption of natural resources. Within the next century, if energy consumers continue to rely on resources such as coal, petroleum, and other fossil fuels at the current rate, society will deplete its fuel reserves, specifically petroleum, to the extent that alternate power sources become necessary to maintain current standards of living based on power sources. Environmentalists, scientists, and the general public target fossil fuel usage as the primary cause for the environments poor condition; renewable resources will offer an opportunity to prevent and possibly improve damage caused by pollution from power procurement. Globally, consumers are ill-prepared for our inevitable reliance upon renewable energy resources; moreover, developing countries in the process of electrifying their citizens will not have the means to progress in the same energy-technology development cycle and cannot base their tenuous energy dependence on a rapidly waning fuel source. In the absence of fossil fuels, people must rely on new forms of transportation and energy to power our increasingly technology-based society. Renewable resources, such as fuel cells, solar power, wind power, and hydro power offers an environmentally-savvy alternative to fossil fuels, yet many of these technologies require further research, refinement, and optimization before we can rely upon them as a substitute for fossil fuels in basic power needs (SolarPACES 1). The problem involves ensuring global preparedness when low energy reserves mandate the use of renewable energy resources through proper allocation of renewable energy technology, ethical support from the public and the government, financial flexibility, and environmental sustainability.

Running Head Youth Subcultures an Example by
Running Head: Youth Subcultures In Youth Activism in the 1990s Dennis (2006) describes the prevailing subculture of the twentieth century. Interestingly, in a culture where corporate America, economic performance and consumerism were the prevailing cultural drivers, to Dennis (2006) the resulting subculture represented exactly the opposite. According to Dennis (2006) the demonstrations against the World Trade Organization (WTO) that occurred in Seattle in 1990s is a clear illustration of the youth subculture that formed in the twentieth century. Intended as a demonstration of how subcultures are formed through cultural influences and economic conditions, Dennis explains that the demonstrations were organized as a means to execute democracy, voice an opinion and gather as a community. According to Dennis, when the generation could be characterized by technological breakthroughs allowing for individual and separate functioning, the subculture that developed revolved around forming a community against the drivers of i ndividuality, consumerism and separation. In essence, the subculture that formed in the 20th century was about forming bounds and social responsibility. Need essay sample on "Running Head: Youth Subcultures" topic? Dennis illustrates that subcultures are often formed through a reaction against the prevailing culture. Dennis traces the occurrence of civil disobedience from the 1960s represented by the Punk style as a form of rejection to the idea of corporate America. The dissent conducted through style statements progressed in the early 90s through cultural expressions in the form of music, art and other media through the grunge movement. These examples cited by Dennis clearly illustrate that the formation of subcultures is directly related to the prevailing culture, in the case of punk, grunge and activism, the subculture was against the prevailing culture. What is interesting about Dennis' explanation is it not only discusses the prevalent anti-status quo subculture that developed in the 20th century, it also illustrates how similar subcultures, or a subculture of dissent, are formed throughout every generation. In the 20th century, when the country began on steady economic development, increasing technological breakthroughs and a relatively richer nation; in a time when very little complaining could be made, the subculture formed was about fighting the status quo of development. Dennis further illustrates that the subculture illustrated through the demonstrations in Seattle was not really about a growing distrust of corporations and capitalism but more about forming bonds and communities. Dennis explains that the protestors did not go to Seattle with one unifying cause, each group had their own specific agenda. What drove these activists to Seattle was the idea of coming together and protesting. As such the subculture formed was influenced not only by the economy and the prevailing culture, but also of the desire to assimilate. Dennis further emphasizes this insight by illustrating that the protestors were not really in Seattle with the fundamental agenda of fighting for economic responsibility and equality. Dennis illustrates that in fact, the majority of the protestors were privileged white youths who were fighting for the protection of impoverished populations throughout the world but failed to see the social inequalities within their own nation. Dennis explains that while the protestors came together it was noticeable that few African Americans, the minority who suffered many social injustices during that period, was not represented and participated very little in agenda set for the demonstrations. Through this argument Dennis illustrates that the subculture of activism was not about a social cause, but more about forming bonds. Reference List Dennis, M. (2006). "Youth Activism in the 1990s." Can I Get an Accredited High School Diploma Online
Can I Get an Accredited High School Diploma Online SAT / ACT Prep Online Guides and Tips Are you looking into online high schools and wondering if theyââ¬â¢re legitimate?Have you come across the word ââ¬Å"accreditedâ⬠and want to know what it means?Online high schools have been exploding in popularity in recent years, and, as more are created, it can be difficult to tell which are legitimate schools and which are little more than diploma mills. Read this guide to learn more about online high schools, what it means for a school to be accredited, where to get an accredited high school diploma online, and how to ensure that you are choosing the best school for you. Note: If you're interested in getting your GED online rather than an accredited high school diploma, read this article instead. What Is an Online School? Asyou may have guessed, an online high school is a school or program where students can earn their high school diploma by taking classes online. Some of these classes arecompletely online, while others are mostly online but require students to visit a testing center or other location to take final exams. If you enroll in an online high school, you can either take a few classes to supplement your degree at your regular high school, or you can earn your entire high school diploma online. Some of these programs are affiliated with traditional brick and mortar schools while others are solely online.Online high schools can be public, private, charter, or university/college affiliated. To learn more about why people choose to attend online high school and how it can benefit you, check out our guide to online high school, and learn how to decide if it's a good choice for you. What Does Accreditation Mean? Accreditation is a process of evaluation that schools (both online and traditional) undergo in order to ensure they meet certain quality standards for education. Accreditation is evaluated regularly, and a school can lose accreditation if a large number of students don't meet educationalstandards for their grade level, there aren't enough teachers for the students, teachers don't have necessaryeducational backgrounds, or a different reason. Before a school becomes unaccredited, it is often given a warning and probationary period first to try and improve. A school can regain its accreditation if it has shown sustainable improvement, but becoming re-accredited can often take several months or even years. For high schools, accreditation requirements vary by state. Public schools must follow guidelines set by their state government in order to be accredited, while the requirements for private and charter schools often vary widely, depending on the state. Accreditors must be approved by the US Department of Education (USDE) in order to be considered legitimate.A school that is legitimately accredited will provideinformation about who it is accredited by (such as a regional accreditor), and who accepts that accreditation, such as "Fully accredited by the State Department of Illinois." A school that simply lists "accredited" without mentioning who it is accredited by or who accepts that accreditationmay not be officiallyaccredited, which is pretty much the same as not being accredited at all. Unfortunately, fake accreditors do exist. Accreditation is important because it lets students know they are attending a school that provides them with a quality education, and, when they graduate, it lets others know that their education met certain standards. Colleges want to accept students from accredited high schools because it gives them confidence that those students were taught what they need to know to be prepared for and succeed infuture classes. For students who are younger than16, accreditation becomes even more important because you will only be considered enrolled in school (which is required until you turn 16) if the online school you attend is accredited. Are There Non-Accredited Online High Schools? What Are the Dangers of Taking Classes Through Them? As online education continues to grow in popularity, more and more online high schools have been created in order to keep up with demand. Some of these online high schools have gone through rigorous development and reviews and can provide an education equal to that of a traditional high school;however, others are nothing more than diploma mills that take your money and give you a prettyuseless piece of paper in return. Accreditation is the best way to pick out the highest quality schools and prevent yourself from getting scammed. But what if you find a really great online high school that offers great classes, but it isnââ¬â¢t accredited? Is it really that bad to take classes at an unaccredited school? In short, yes.The first reason taking classes from a non-accredited school is bad is that you likely wonââ¬â¢t get a good education. For a school to not be accredited, it either didnââ¬â¢t put in the effort to attempt accreditation (a bad sign, considering how important it is), or it failed the accreditation process because it didnââ¬â¢t meet certain education standards. Simply put, this means that you will be taking classes from a school that hasnââ¬â¢t been found to provide a quality education. Any person canset up a website and claim to run an online high school. Some online high schools will give you a ââ¬Å"diplomaâ⬠as long as you pay their fee and take a short multiple choice exam. While thatââ¬â¢s an extreme case (and that company was eventually shut down), there are many other non-accredited programs that claim to offer you a high school education but donââ¬â¢t deliver. Getting a diploma from an unaccredited school could cause problems for you in the future. Image Source: Flickr/Enokson While getting a high school diploma so easily may seem nice, if you donââ¬â¢t learn much before getting it, you likely wonââ¬â¢t be prepared for whatever the reason youââ¬â¢re attempting to finish high school, whether thatââ¬â¢s college classes or a more advanced job. That can lead to you feeling confused and overwhelmed, and you may end updroppingout of schoolor quitting your job because you didnââ¬â¢t have the knowledge you needed to do well. Another important reason to not take classes from a non-accredited school is because most other schools and people wonââ¬â¢t accept the classes you took. This means that, if you took classes at anon-accredited online school, they probably won'ttransfer to your regular high school, and if you receive a diploma from anon-accredited high school, mostcolleges and employers wonââ¬â¢t accept it.Colleges want students from accredited high schools because it increases the likelihood that they received a rigorous education and are prepared for college classes. For almost alljobs and colleges, having a diploma from a non-accredited high school is just about the same as not having a high school diploma at all.Taking classes at a non-accredited online high school can leave you with a poor education and an expensive piece of paper that likely don'thelp you further your education or career. Is It Ever OK to Take Classes at a Non-Accredited Online High School? Now you know the risks of studying at an unaccredited online school, but would there ever be a good reason to take classes at anon-accredited school? For almost all high school students, it's a bad idea to classes at anon-accredited school. However, there area fewtimes whenit could be OKto take classes at anon-accredited online high school. The reasons are listed below; however, for each of them, remember that there is still some risk involved if you ever change your plans and would like those classes to transfer to a school that only accepts credits from an accredited school. Whenever possible, you should still choose an accredited school. One reason you may take classes at a non-accredited school is because you don't plan on pursuing additional education afterward,so you don't need to worry about other schools accepting the classes. This may be the case if you are attending a technical school or certificate programwhere your qualifications will be based on a specialized test you need to pass and not the accreditation of your school. Another reason you may take classes at a non-accredited online school is if you are only taking a few classes for your own personal use and not looking to receive academic credit for them. This could be the case if you want to take some online classes for fun, to brush up on a particular skill, or to prepare yourself for future classes where you will receive academic credit (such as taking an online calculus class before your actual calculus class begins). This may also be true forhome-schooledstudents who want to supplement their education with online classes. A third reason is that the traditional (i.e. not online) school you are attending or will attend has agreed to accept classes from a non-accredited school. Some high schools and colleges have partnershipswith certain online class providers, and they may give you academic credit for classes you take through them, even if those online schoolsaren't accredited because your schoolstudied their syllabi and knows theymeet their standards. However, you should absolutely check on thisbefore enrolling in an unaccredited online class, and you should get confirmation, preferably in writing, that the class will be accepted. If you're going to attend an unaccredited online school, be careful, and don't jump in right away. How Can You Find OutIf an Online High School Is Accredited? So now that you know how important accreditation is, how can you find out if the online high schools youââ¬â¢re interested in are accredited? There are several different steps, and each isoutlined below. Step 1: Check the School Website Typically, the easiest way to see if a particular school is accredited is to check its website. If the school is accredited, it will state that somewhere on its website, often on the first page or in the ââ¬Å"aboutâ⬠section. Some schools have specificpages just to show their accreditation. Once you find this information, sure the schoolalso states whoit received its accreditation from and/or who that accreditationis recognized by (such as a regional accreditationor a department of education). A school will rarely come out and state that itââ¬â¢s not accredited, however. If you canââ¬â¢t find any accreditation information on the schoolââ¬â¢s website, move on to the next step. Step 2: Check Online Resources While the US Department of Education has created a database for people to check the accreditation of colleges and universities, there is currently no such resource to check for high schools, so it can be slightly more difficult to learn if a high school is accredited.First try doing an internet search for ââ¬Å"accreditation + [School Name]â⬠.You can also search for online reviews to see what past students are saying about the school. Step 3: Contact the School If you are unable to find information online, contact the school itself.Look on the schoolââ¬â¢s website to find its contact information, and either call or e-mail them.Ask if the school is accredited and, if so, by whom. Be aware that many schools do not like to admit outright that they arenââ¬â¢t accredited, so they may give you a roundabout answer. You should be extremely wary of any answer that isnââ¬â¢t a plainââ¬Å"Yes.â⬠This includes ââ¬Å"Weââ¬â¢re almost accreditedâ⬠, ââ¬Å"No, but weââ¬â¢re just as good as accredited schools,â⬠and similar responses. This is often just a way to try and convince you to enroll in the school anyway. If they are accredited, ask for more information on who accredited them. It may be a regional accreditation, national accreditation, or a state accreditation. If a school isnââ¬â¢t accredited, move on to another one that is. There are many options for online high school now, and more and more of these schools are becomingaccredited. Summary Online high schools can be a great way for people who canââ¬â¢t attend traditional schools to obtain their high school diploma. However, as online education becomes more popular, some schools have been created solely as a way to make money for their owner, with no regard to quality of education. Accreditation is a way to easily find out which schools provide a good education. If a school is accredited, that means it met certain education standards. If you enroll in an online high school that isn't accredited, you will most likely not get a good education, and your diploma and coursework wonââ¬â¢t be accepted by almost anycolleges or employers, making it pretty much useless. You should always check to see if a school is accredited before enrolling. You can do this by looking on the schoolââ¬â¢s website or contacting them directly. What's Next?
